Meet the Music Director, Eric Doades:
I currently work as the Choir Director for Edgewood Junior High School, teaching courses in general music and audio production, and coordinating and directing four performing arts groups. These award-winning groups perform concurrently across the state of Indiana throughout the school year. My role includes show development and direction, budgeting and fiscal reconciliation, collaboration with outside artists, calendar coordination, and event management for home and travel competitions. I recruit and direct a dedicated team of community volunteers of all ages and experience to support the Edgewood students.
I have served as a recordist, sound designer and actor on numerous audio productions, as well as acquired many musical and theatrical performance credits, including Carnegie Hall, regional and local theatre, and Kentucky and Indiana state events, as well as being on the production side of numerous creative projects. I have worked as an arts educator in non-traditional and cross-cultural classrooms, including tours with Missoula Children’s Theatre and a residency with Gyeonngi English Village in South Korea. These roles, and directing a middle school choral program, require a high degree of flexibility and the need to create a fast-paced, dynamic work environment to maintain student interest and buy-in.
